Why is it that any person thinks its a good idea to discriminate in this day in age? Race, age, sex, nationality, all politics has done in the past 8 years has make more Americans into savages.

Do you agree, shouldn't we be progressing to acceptance rather than persecution?

I agree with you 100%. I am amazed at the amount of racism and predjudice that still exists today. I personally have never really had to deal with it myself but it breaks my heart to see how terribly some people are still treated at this day in age. I seriously don't thinks things are ever going to change. The amount of acceptance in this country hasn't changed much in the last 30 years and I don't see it getting any better any time soon.

I am not an American, but the accepting issue arises here in Canada as well. I think everyone should be accepting. Factors like race, age, sex, nationality (as you have mentioned) are not the reasons to block someone out. It's like judging a book by its cover, which in my mind set, is unacceptable. Many people here, who own a PHD, work as cab drivers. Which is pretty sad because they don't have the canadian education - aka the government believes that any other education outside of Canada is basically not good enough to be applied in a Clinical Job (doctor, dentist etc.). This brings in race issues and nationality ratings. It's a complicated problem and has caused some down falls for the victims.

I decided to share that fact only to state the un-importance some individuals face due to the factors they have no control over. The government abviously isn't accepting toward the people with an outside degree. And this influences the outside population and eventually leads to things like discrimination and stereotypes.

Acceptance is the way to go and I am with you 100%.

We should be more accepting, but has there ever been a point in history when we didn't have a scapegoat? In this day and age, it's hard to even tell who that is anymore.

Plus, hatred is passed down. If you're surrounded by prejudiced views all your life, how do you know that they're wrong? As long as people continue teaching their kids that bigotry is okay, discrimination won't go away.

Question Asker I'm really glad there's someone out there other than me who believes how we're raised is extremely important and can decide many things for our futures. - 5 months ago

Discrimination will always be with the human race. There's a lot of things that we would like to change about our combined civilization and culture, but as it stands now nothing will change, unless we all suddenly think alike. And that's not fun. :(

Question Asker That isn't discrimination dude...look up the definition.

And also, it's a fact. Many people follow the bible and say whatever is in it is right and just. If the bible has words against gays, many people who follow the bible will then discriminate against gays.

That answer was based off fact. Whether or not the bible is real, people are still using it as a justification for discrimination. - 5 months ago
Answerer Yeah and those people who use it as justification are wrong too because no where in the bible does it endorse the discrimination of a certain group So hopefully you can see what I was saying was that having the scripture of a certain religion and using it to say it endorses discrimination, is in some ways discriminating against that religion because those few people who do discriminate using the bible as justification don't represent all Christians - 5 months ago
Answerer Also b4 you respond I understand the church discriminates but the bible doesn't - 5 months ago
