I am going to a counselor tomorrow and I don't know if I should tell her about what I have been doing to try to lose weight. I have been taking laxatives and working out every time after I eat. I really do not know what to do if any of you out there that are reading this tell me what you did if you have a eating problem.
I wouldn't tell her what your doing. As long as you eat enough and are getting a variety of nutrients, working out isn't an issue. However, if you are depriving yourself of nutrients, it is unhealthy and can be dangerous. I tried something like that a few years back, except for the laxatives, and working out as much as you are will never become a habit that you can stay with. If you want to stay lean just make sure your metabolism is burning. Eat six small meals a day and workout in the morning so whatever food you ingest gets burned up. Sprinting is great for your metabolism in case you didn't already know that. In the end, make sure your healthy and if that becomes an issue, then I would tell somebody. If you need a little guidance, subscribe to women's health magazine. It will provide you with knowledge on working out and nutrition as well as other things. Good Luck and I hope that everything is okay.
my best friend is bulimic, but not the typical binge and pure bulimic. She throws up EVERYTHING she eats. We work out together for at least 3 hours a day and she was never fat to begin with but she lost an unbelievable amount of weight and within weeks she looked like the olsen twins. I finally convinced her to get help and even she agrees that it is the best thing for her. She sees her psychologist every two weeks and loves it. It has helped her so much. She told her psychologist everything and says that she didn't scold her or lecture her, she just understands and councils. so good luck! I hope it all works out for you in the same way!
I think you should tell your counselor about everything that you are doing to lose weight. I think hiding any thing like taking laxatives would really defeat the purpose of seeing a counselor. Tell him/her everything and hopefully they can help you out.
I highly recommend that tell your counselor about this, as I used to have an eating disorder and it can make you feel alienated and ashamed. If you are overweight, just take a brisk walk for 30 minutes a day and eat a plenty of protein and fiber. Make sure to get at the very, very least 60 calories from fat a day, or your hair will fall out. Laxatives and working out too much can take a toll on your heart and overall health, so please don't. Please discuss this with your counselor, I did with mine and she helped me to overcome my disorder and by that saved my life.
