Whatever STD you are talking about, please keep the health and safety of your partner in mind. Actually it's a crime to be tested positive for HIV and knowingly give it to somebody else. It varies from state to state; for some states it's a felony = prison time, and other states, it's a misdemeanor.

Tested positive to what?

Whatever "it" is, you do need to be honest with your partner, no matter how hard that conversation is.

cieci If you care about your relationship and want it to work, honesty is the the best way, lies will only make things more difficult for the both of you! So are you pregnant or is it a STD? - 10 months ago

Yes. I tested positive for herpes 5 years ago after my husband was unfaithful.
I have been with my current boyfriend for the last 4 years and he doesn't have a clue. I haven't passed it on to him and I haven't told him. I was afraid he's reject me. But now, if he gets it after all this time, he may think that I was just recently unfaithful (which I never have been) but still, much better to be honest in the beginning. I wish I had been.

good-looking-geek I am very sorry to read that an unfaithful husband would do that to you. This unfaithful activity really worries me in this country. I am not married, but I will be some day not too long from now. And I hope and pray that my future wife will never do this. - 6 months ago

No, and I would definitely not condone it...he/she always has a right to know.

If you care about your partner you would tell him. Just because you are infected don't mean that others have to be infected too.

Do you mean HIV or AIDs? If so, every partner tested positive needs to tell their partner. Also, if they don't know, they need to be tested.
