I seen an article in the paper and a married couple can't have kids and are desperate to get someone to donate some eggs so that they can have a child of there own.I'm really considering doing it. Would you be able to do it? knowing there is a child out there that's yours. What's your views?
My opinion is that couples who have difficulty or flat out can't conceive should just adopt. There are too many neglected children who need caring parents and perspective parents who cannot have children naturally make perfect candidates.
But if I ever get a vasectomy when I am middle aged and for sure have my hands full with the children I will have (one very well could be adopted), then I will freeze my sperm for no real reason. Just for safe keeping.
I'm not sure about egg donors but to be a sperm donor they check for a bachelor's degree from the person doing the donation. And I think this varies by locations, too. So I wouldn't be able to do it now, but in two years I'll be eligible, lol. But I imagine it means a lot to the person who receives the donation, or why would they want it? And if it was my donation, then I have to hope for the best. Like, when I die, I chose to donate my organs, and I got to hope that who receives them treats them like they were their own to begin with.
I know women can get paid a lot of money for donating eggs, but I would never do it. I don't know the exact nature of the procedure, but there's no way that it's as easy as it is for men to donate sperm. Plus, I just think it's weird, honestly.
Besides, I support adoption. If a person can't adopt for some reason, it's fine for them to go to a sperm/egg donor. Otherwise, I think it's wrong--there are so many children without families, why not choose them?
i actually did a research paper on this. A lot of times, the people who take the donation send pictures to the donor. Or I even read some cases where the parents and child keep in contact with the donors. But usually the child doesn't know, he/she thinks those are his/her ral parents. Which is usually why they just send like school pictures to the donor and the child doesn't know about it. Or there was this one couple who told the child that the donor was her aunt, and she thought that her whole life. but I would probably do it. I can't imagine wanting a child and not ebign able to have one. you could always reuest school pictures if yo wanted to see the hcild as it grows.
