Is this your first time on earth? I was told that when you have a deja-vu is because something similar happened in your past life. Do you believe this is true? I know this may sound strange, but I've always been drawn to France and the 17th century. I LOVE everything about it. I love reading books about it, and movies that take place there. My mom thinks is because I lived in that Era.
The long answer entails a story! I'm of a scientific mind, so I really need to see proof for a lot of things and tend to not believe in reincarnation. However, something I experienced as a child shakes up this belief somewhat as I cannot dismiss, or explain, what happened.
My mother was a genealogist. We would go to different courthouses to look through records (which at 8 years old I found boring) and graveyards to do rubbings (which I found fun). She was doing some rubbings at a somewhat local church that was very old; over 200 years. For some reason, that of which I cannot remember, there was a gathering going on at the church with quite a few people. I can't remember if it was a celebration of the churches age or regular services were being held or what. I just know that it was unusual for me as it wasn't our normal church and from what I remember the whole shebang was just out of the ordinary.
Anyways, we attended services that were later held in the church. We sat in the upper balcony and I was against the wall. As the service went on, I noticed handwriting on the wall. There were signatures there from the 1700's! From the writing I figured they were from kids of the time. I was astonished by the signatures and reached out to touch them. All of the sudden I experienced something much like a shock of electricity. "Something" happened and I started looking around and noticed that I wasn't in the right time anymore. There was a service going on, however, everyone was in old-time clothes and everything appeared normal to me. I felt as though I belonged there. What seemed like a minute or so passed then I must have jerked my hand away as it all disappeared and I was back in present time. I sat there scared out of my wits as I didn't know exactly what happened (and I still don't really) and never had anything like that happen to me before.
Whatever happened, I know that I *had* been there in that church before. I had somehow been in that time period before. While I don't know if it was reincarnation or not.I just don't have any explanation for it. I cannot scientifically explain it.
I just keep wishing I remembered where the church was as if I did I'd go back, check the signatures, and try and research the names. It's a very strong possibility, in my mind, that the signature I touched was "mine" from a previous time. It's.just freaky to think about.
I know I may sound off my rocker, but it happened.
no I do not, yet deja-vu is not that something happened to you in the past life, its simply when ur brain sees the same think more than once even if it was 3 days go. people doing the same thing as a habbit might cause a deja-vu. it is in the past throgh ur life, but not through ur past-life. going back in ur mind while ur doing something might cause a deja-vu.
Personally, I think it's possible that we can be reincarnated, but I'm not sure. I've had."visions" I'd say seemed like regular memories, if they'd been of anything I've ever seen in this life. That's not to say I'm not a Christian, because I believe myself to be. It's just that I went through a recent stint as a pagan when I started doubting my Christian upbringing because I couldn't understand it, and I took some of the ways they explain their belief in gods/goddesses and applied it to my own belief in the Christian God. And based on these beliefs, I do believe that reincarnation is completely plausible, and that God would allow it in at least SOME situations. I believe religion should be personal instead of the "business" that people sometimes turn it into.
Sorry, I rambled and said a bit more than what the question asked. LOL Oh well.wouldn't be the first time.
i think it's a neat concept, but I have never really had any experiences that made me strongly believe I was soemwher else in anotehr lifetime. But this girl I know is like deathly terrified of a dark parking lot. And she always told me she think she may have gotten raped before in a dark paring lot in another life. It is possible I guess. Reincarnation is a way better option than just going blank after you die. But it is weird when we have strong interests in a particular time period or culture.
I don't think I would say that I actually believe in it, but I don't really doubt it either if that makes sense lol. Like I guess I don't think it's impossible. Probably because I'm similar to you, except with Japanese culture. :]
