Well I only know of pretty mainstream ones, so I'm sorry if you've already heard of them lol But Blood+ is really good. It's pretty much a drama, sad too. Death Note's not as sad, but it's definitely a drama. I loved how clever it was. I think Trinity Blood is a drama too. There's also Code Geass and Fullmetal Alchemist (they're both kinda drama and action). That's all I can think of right now haha. :]
Know of all of 'em XD but I do appreciate the answer, thank you, but none of them are quiet what I'm looking for, but they are stilll all alright. - 2 months ago

Depends, what kind of stuff you're into, My presonal favorites are: Elfen Lied, School Days, and Air, but Inuyasha is one of the first ones I got into, and Rozen Maiden is a very cute anime, but really depends on what kind you like. - 2 months ago
Melinium (1,000 years) Snow, (I don't know if this fits all the criteria but it's good) Host club, if you want more just go to Onemanga.com and just search and select the key words.
It's not modern, in fact it's very old school, but any of Leiji Matsumoto's movies/series about Captain Harlock. They were made in the 80s. My personal favorite is Arcadia of My Youth. Other good ones are Galaxy Express 999, Adieu Galaxy Express 999, Windaria, or A Wind Named Amnesia. All old school, but I think they might be in line with what you're looknig for if you like sad, tragic stories.
I'll be sure to check them out, thank you XD - 9 days ago

Anime was like that in the 80s and early 90s. In recent years the dark/dramatic/sad/tragic animes that used to be a dime a dozen have been replaced with wacked out stuff like FLCL. Also, if you liked Inuyasha, the creator of that show has some strictly dramatic stuff you might be interested in: Mermaid's Scar, Mermaid's Tear. her name is Rumiko Takahashi and she is a legend in the world of anime, responsible for Ranma 1/2, Urutesi Yatsura (both comedies) and a lot of others. - 9 days ago

Honestly I HATE things like FLCL and unrelated to that DBZ actually held me back from checking out anime for a long time, to me FLCL and things like "Shin Chan" have little to no entertainment value, but that's just my opinion, and I was aware that she came up with Ranama 1/2 and others, to me Inuyasha wasn't quite as in depth, tragic or anything as I'd have liked, not to mention it never really had a conclusion. And you have seen School Days, correct? - 9 days ago
Answerer
No, I haven't seen much of anything anime-wise in recent years unfortunately. been meaning to get back into it. feel free to message me for more. I like the tragic, dramatic anime too. it's my favorite kind, in fact. I know tons of titles you should check out but they're all more old school, stuff that came out when I was a kid (I'm 28 now). - 9 days ago
Question Asker
