How can one recover when they're first relationship is shattered by the reality that you were a rebound? When every other guy who seems interested is only looking for sex and nothing more? I'm so confused. I'll feel happy and have fun with friends, but every day it feels like a piece of me still dies. I'm getting help, but I don't know what I'm trying to help. Please I just need advise. I'm loosing myself and I don't want to. No I'm not suicidal so there's no real hurry.
I agree 100% with Atomizer's answer. If you feel happy and have fun with friends, keep doing it, but as for meeting the right guy. the reality is, there are quite a few guys that haven't learned that a relationship is more than just sex. Every guy isn't though. You just need to wait it out, things will get better. Keep your eyes open for the right guy
I'm sorry you were hurt by a rebound relationship; I had one too and got attached to her before I learned the full story. It was painful.
Know that you'll recover from the rebound. There's no magic way to get over it faster. It's a matter of time, and no one can predict when you'll feel better. Imagine if someone kicked your leg, really hard. You'd limp, wouldn't you? And your leg would be sore for days or weeks afterwords. But you got kicked in the heart, and your heart will hurt for a while, but it'll improve, gradually. What you're feeling is normal.
There are millions of single people, but only a small percentage of them will be a good match for you. But the only way to know who the matches are is to meet new people, and filter out the ones who don't have the same goals in life as you. If you learn a guy's after only sex, move away from him if that's not what you want.
Stay busy with your friends. Talk about your emotions, but try to avoid dwelling on them and reliving the past.
I'm single right now but how do you avoid being rebound? How do you tell? What if they're just lying to you to get what they want, so? I thought this...
