I have a friend that I have been spending a lot of time with since he has been divorced. He calls me every day and we hang out together in groups every weekend. Others around me can also see that he may have more than friend feelings for me but they feel that his relationship with my brothers may be in jeopardy if he makes a move. He does talk about other girls and dating other people. I don't want to lose him but this is driving me crazy. I am not the one that calls him. What to do?

Simple and quick answer. YES. That's common for guys and I bet he is very into you. Just waiting for you to say something.

Guys are sensitive about their relationships with other guys. It's definitely about your brothers. Ask them first, what they think of as a potential boyfriend, then in a conversation tell him, kinda like a joke, that your brother mentioned he would be a great boyfriend for you, or you would be great a couple, something along those lines. IMHO him telling you about other girls is just to see what your reaction will be.

Even if there is such a feeling, I would bet that it isn't more than illusional. Getting thru a divorce must be tough and he finds all the comfort within you, while going thru this and it is only normal that his feelings would reflect into something other than just friendship. You shouldn't jeopardize your relationship with him, along with his relationship with your brothers as that would send him to an even deeper hole than the one he is in now. I like the idea of jokingly asking him, too.

Yeah, if you like him, go ahead and say something even if it's just a little flirting or joking or whatever. What's the worst that can happen? You get embarrassed? If you're that good of friends it won't matter.

Ask him out and say "can this be a date"...That would be a good signal to find out what his intentions are, if he backs off or something you can always, "Oh come on I was being silly"
