I was talking with my boyfriend today and I told him that I wanted to get something pierced, most likely my lip cause I've wanted it for a long time, but possibly my nose. He tells me I shouldn't because his parents won't like me then. I barely ever see his parents, and I told him I would just take it out when I saw them and just avoided going to his house during the healing time. He still says no. Should I just do it, or should I listen to him?
Well depends on how long you have been together and how serious your relationship is. In hte long run,he actually has no say. You should do and try anything you want. And its not as if its permanent like a tattoo. so why not get it done and then see what he says about it [prehaps he might change his mind once he sees it] and if it turns out that it creates problems with the 2 of you then decide if YOU want to keep it or not depending on what results form you getting something pierced.
Go and do it, at the end of the day it's your body. If his parents don't like you it isn't the end of the world. Besides, it's what you want not what he wants.
if you want to be with him, I guess saying no to the lip peircing would be a good idea. Although it's your body and you can do w/e you want with it you please; I would probably not do it but that's just my opinion
you're an adult, it's your body, do with it what you will. if your boyfriend doesn't like it then he doesn't have to be with you. if his parents don't like it, then he doesn't have to be with you. it's really that simple, if you really want it, get it. if he loves you then he'll support you and his parents should like you for how you act and how you treat them and their son, not what jewelry you decide to wear.
the decision is really ip to you but I wouldn't do lip ring because at least with the nose you can get a stud and then when your older if you don't like it you won't see the whole (most likely).thats what I would do
