How to change your relationship status on fb without making it on the news feed?

I already have my relationship status set to "Custom" where 2 people can't see it but I'm wondering how can I change my status whereas people can't see the change. I just don't want my new status coming up on the news feed.
I remember the first time, I had it on "Only me" and changed it, but it still came up on the news feed.

oh yea it came up but only you can see it so if you go to view as and then type someones name it will show you how they see it

If you don't want those 2 people to see your relationship status, you can't be friends in real life. why not just delete them?
