I like somewhere in the middle. I like hanging out a lot but I also would like my space plus the guy can always just call.

Independent for sure! I would not want t needy guy. I would want someone that is capable of being on his own and doing his own thing so I can do mine but we can be together too.

I like them somewhere in the middle. It's nice to be needed and to know that you can help someone out at times. Then it's nice to know that a man can be independent and can rely on himself too.

It's probably the dependent guys who pay more attention and show more affection but ironically, women are more attracted to the independent men. I suppose with dependence comes smothering, obsessive, needy, clinging and those traits that are unattractive in both genders.

Question Asker I pay attention to what women say, and I do show affection, but they told me that I'm too independent and I told them I'm not all that independent and that I also do rely on other people. I do consider myself as an independent guy, so do these girls! - 4 months ago

Definitely an independent guy.. there is nothing sexier than a man that takes charge and shows confidence. But there is also something comforting when they depend on you on occasion

There has to be a balance of give and take in any successful relationship. I think that dependency from a guy shows a low self-esteem and lack of initiative, which to me is unattractive.

How can you be in a real relationship if you're always depending on the other person, it just doesn't work out.

There is nothing worse than a dependent guy. It stinks.

Dependent guys may be too clingy and take advantage of the girl they are with.

I'm glad to hear that women want an independent man and that I must be doing something right! My relationship with my girlfriend of 3 years has been confusing to say the least, because when I first met her, I was totally independent & had no idea that she was very needy and clingy in a lot of ways. I guess that she had not received the love she needed from anyone for quite some time & she was all over me "like white on rice!" (lol) At any rate, it was strange because when I tried to give her more love and pay more attention to her, she then began to back away from me. I have become confused because I'm not sure of what she wants. She has literally cried to get my attention at times, but when I give it to her, she seems to act like it's not what she wants. But, every time I back off from her and just be myself again, she chases me again and acts like I'm rejecting her or something. I guess I started to doubt myself for a while because of her behavior. I'm glad I read this poll, however, because it helps me to realize that I can just be myself and be independent and not worry about it!

A good female friend said to me once: "Only a truly independent person can be Co-dependent". And naturally, no one wants a person calling them all the time, hanging around, smothering them to death. It's kind of obsessive if you ask me.

Guys: Do you really fall in love with a girl?
lvrgirl2011 asked 2 days ago

Yes, I've been in love.

No, I've never been in love.

I'm scared to love someone.

LOVE is an over-used word that doesn't have meaning.

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
I'm pretty classical on the first date so dinner and maybe bowling or something along those lines where we can interact. I wouldn't mind a movie but there's not much interaction when you're watching a movie. I tend to get more creative after I the first date and I know some of their likes and dislikes.

Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
That I'm a real, genuine guy who is a gentleman and will treat you right. I like to write so poetry so I'll write some about you ;) pretty much, that I'm an overall good guy with good intentions.

Would you date me?
