Do women expect men to be more aggressive and physical in a relationship? Do they expect a man to curse and yell? Does it make a woman feel more like a woman when a man curses and yells?

I can't stand men that are aggressive and curse and yell. It certainly doesn't make me feel like a woman, it makes me feel vulnerable and scared. I prefer men that are clam and I can talk to or have a disagreement with without them losing control.

Truthfully when a man yells and curses at a woman, means he has no respect for her and no appreciation at all. Unless it turns the girl on which is ridiculous. I don't expect my boyfriend to be either aggressive nor physical. Just be a man. That's it.

Sometimes, I would want him a little aggressive, jus because it makes me feel like he's strong and tough, making me feel like he could protect me. It depends, I would want a man to yell and curse if he was sticking up for me. If he was yelling and cursing at me NO. I wouldn't like that at all. No it doesn't make me feel more like a woman when a man curses or yells.

Ionlife has the right idea I think. To me aggressive and physical have nothing to do with violence.

Self confidence, self esteem and emotional maturity are the important things. Willingness to stand up for her and to be there to comfort her. Be her champion and cherish her.

The hard part is if you've been the lovey dovey type and then try to change into the more assertive and 'aggressive' type. If she met you as the lovey dovey type, the change may make you look like a jerk. Because that's not what she expects from you. The tough guy can have a kind heart she's attracted to, and the kind, gentle guy isn't expected to pick fights.

Since I seem to be talking in circles, I'll stop now by saying just be yourself.

Ok I'm not nuts so no I wouldn't want a man who screams, curses and hits me - those are what you call tough guys and tough guys are the ones who are always the dominator's and I'm sorry but I'd rather go with a guy who's sweet and nice. And why would it make me feel like a woman when he screams and yells at me - all it would do to me is make me cry - damn am I sensitive...

Well, my mama raised a gentleman, and cussing and yelling only comes out when I'm taken far enough to go there. If a woman wants me to cuss and yell at her, then she's with the wrong dude and probably should see a psychiatrist.

NotSoBad,

I think you are mixing and diluting the term aggressive and physical by equating it with violence.

How many girls wouldn't want their man to be a bit more assertive and physical? Instead of tapping her on the arm and asking if she would like to make love, sweep her off her feet and ravage her. Don't just talk about it, show her how your entire body quivers and lusts after her. You'll find many women respond much better to men who are assertive and physical than men who are lovey-dovey and like to talk about how she makes him feel.

Anyhow, I digress. What I am trying to say, everything has its time and place. There is a time for lovey dovey and then there is a time to be assertive and physical and ravage her and let your body do the talking. Talk can be faked but your body will rarely lie to her!

My two (euro) cents.

P. S. Good question but I am afraid most women will equate it with violence because you specifically added if they expect a man to curse and yell. Which is a resounding, NO.

DeanW I disagree with you in parts. Though I see your point, I also see that you switched "aggressive" to "assertive." Those words carry different connotations. - 8 months ago
