support him in whatever decisions he makes

Don't nag, we heard you the first time
Don't criticize, yourself, us or others
Don't make us guess, our secret decoder is in the shop for repairs
Don't be a drama queen, if I want drama I watch the neighbor hood dog chase his tail
Don't ask rhetorical questions, e. G. Do you love/like me? We're with you, aren't we?
Don't say "doesn't matter to me" when we ask what you want to eat/do and then get upset
