I'm in a debate with a person who thinks that, as long as he intends not to follow through with the text, it's not cheating. I've suggested showing the texts to his girlfriend and letting her decide. Don't think he will though:)
Update: Thanks for the replies people. Haven't convinced him. He still thinks that it's not cheating. It's only being "playful". What a dork!

I don't believe its technically cheating, but it is still rude as h*** and a horrible thing to do to both girls. It is most definitely disrespectful and I would dump a guy for pulling that.
I feel that it's possible to cheat with our hearts and our minds. He obviously disregards his girlfriend's feelings when it comes down to what he says to other women, so what's to say he wouldn't take that to a physical level as well? I agree with you completely and this is an excellent question.
Its like mental cheating, your not physically doing anything, but your thinking it, and saying it actually. So really verbal cheating. Which ever way, its cheating.
Cheating is cheating, whether its emotionally or physically, and either way its wrong. I personally think that someone cheating emotionally hurts more than physical cheating.

Yes. And, it's cruel to the ex who thinks he/she MAY be winning him over again. Besides, why would you want to share yourself emotionally like that with someone you are not crazy about ? Kind of trivializes it, IMHO.
Shouldn't he be giving all that energy toward his girlfriend? Would he mind if she did the same to her exes? Too me if you think like that, it's about the same as doing it.
Definitely. Even if he truly doesn't intend to follow through (and he does - he's trying to set up the situation in which it can "just happen") it's still emotional betrayal.
Of course it is. He's still harboring feelings by wanting to stay in touch with his exes. if his current girlfriend did see them, I can only imagine that she is going to think it is also cheating. its one thing to send and receive messages from an ex that are business/general life related but even these in the eyes of the new girlfriend can be painful.

I don't know where to start with my hair, I like it to be *very straight, with the top sort layers back combed, and extensions underneath for thickness. I die my hair alot*with makeup I always find the need to paste on foundation, mostly because of my freckles.. I wear eyeliner, eye shadow (usually brown or to match what I'm wearing) and huge eyelashes (:
