A few years ago I was working in a big box store in a local town. There was a girl there who I developed a huge crush on. She already had a boyfriend, but had only been seeing him for two weeks. I thought that if I spent as much time as I could with her and was a little patient I could make her see that I was the better man. After two months I learned that she had cheated on her boyfriend several time with at least five guys. Out of the entire store I was literally that last to know. Everyone in the store was aware of my strong feelings and had warned me to stop pursuing her. One of the guys she slept with had a girlfriend who he cheated on regularly and constantly bragged about it. Why would she cheat so much and with such people?
I have a friend like this. She used to be really devoutly Catholic and didn't believe in sex outside marriage. She broke up with her long term boyfriend & started drinking and sleeping around. I've experienced two other girls who had the same background as this and once they broke up with their long time boyfriend they went the same way as my friend.
I believe girls who sleep around are unhappy with their current relationship/themselves or are doing it after a big shake up in their life.
I have to say now the former of what I just said is true, girls who are unhappy can channel that unhappiness through sex because they are looking for attention and affection. Most of the time it's a cry for help.
Looking for attention and affection is a huge reason for sleeping around. I have seen this first hand. I'd say that she is crying for help because she is unhappy with some aspect of her life.
I know how it feels to fall for someone that you thought was perfect only to find out that they are less than that. But sometimes there's a much deeper meaning to a situation someone is in and it's not always what it appears on the outside.
I have fallen for a girl like this one as well. I see it the same way as you do. I try to let her know that I care and show her affection but she just rejected it. Even though we broke up I still show her I care because I'm afraid she exactly this type of girl you speak about. I know I can't make her change and it is to confusing to be in a relationship with her so what can I do? I send her letters. You have to look at yourself first, you sound like a really nice guy who has a lot to offer to any girl. Realize that if you feel like the situation is exhausting you then you must move on. Before you do that have one final talk to her. Tell her this is the last time you will put yourself out for her but you will always be there if she needs to talk. She will always have you there & one day she will realize what she's been doing to you. But go out & find an amazing girl who will treat you right. - 3 months ago
