I'm a freshman and my best friend recently started dating a junior. It doesn't bother me except that it has sort of changed her! She used to be so humble even though she is GORGEOUS! Now she seems cocky and she completely blows me off in the hallway if an older friend calls her over! What should I do?

If you do nothing, she'll continue to be sucked into the ridiculous drama of high school, so waiting isn't really an option (until maybe after high school). All I can think of doing is confronting her in a very aggressive way by really speaking your mind about how she is, unfortunately, I doubt even that will work.

This is just what happens in high school. People get consumed by misinterpretations of power and social status that they change dramatically. It's usually a person's friends that do this.

Accept that she's young and is equating approval with friendship.

She'll grow. Allow her that. Could've been you with the older guy. Allow her the necessary space she'll need to understand what friendship is. You might not talk with her much for a year or two.But that doesn't necessarily mean you don't have choices yourself. Being angry or resentful of her behavior is a choice. So is allowing yourself to stay mad or hurt.

Don't do either.

Totally agree with sportygal. Just talk to her and work it out. She won't know there even is a problem until you tell her about it.

Well that's high school. I had best friend in elementary school but lets just say that some things happened to them which caused me to never see them anymore. Your friends cares to much on her image and now she isn't being herself. Just walk up to her and just talk about it.

If she blows you off then its her fault for losing a best friend. Tell her how she wasn't like she was use to be and she will be likely respond that she has grown up.

And btw girls usually get cocky when they got screwed by and older guy.

Hmm that's not always true but if she's the kind of person that would do that to you then she's not that cool and the older guys will eventually see that and move on to something better.

Wait it out. High School relationships don't usually last too long. When they break up, and all his friends stop calling her over to them, she'll realize that what she did to you was wrong and she'll have to make it up to you. lol ;)

well. I'm actually I'm a sophomore and I see this happen a lot. most likely those older kids will do something to piss her off and she'll have no one to go to except you and maybe other friends and it will be up to you to take her back so I think you should just wait it out and try and be there for her even tho it is sometimes hard. unfortunately this is one of those things she has to learn on her own. and I could be wrong, they could like her a lot but I highly doubt it.

maybe you should just sit and hav a talk with your friend

blow her off. any "best friend" that disses you cause of new people that came in her life.is not a real friend. than when they blow her off she's gonna come running to you. let her have her older boyfriend to feel cool.

Same thing happened to me. My friend started dating a senior though, I personally think it was the "having sex" part that changed her.

I think you should talk to your friend. She might not notice she's doing it. If that doesn't work and she still is acting like that to you. She's not a real friend. Some girls change when they have a boyfriend. I try to not have friends like that.

good luck

Forget about her, or push her to the side like she did to you. Yeah, I know 2 wrongs don't make a right, but sometimes you have to give people a taste of their own medicine. If she was a true friend, she wouldn't be acting so fake like that. I've experienced her type before. Let her blow in the wind, and find a new best friend.

she'll eventually learn that guys aren't everything. and they will break up and she will go back to her normal self. she is just trying to change herself because of a guy and she wants to impress him.its a bad thing. I did it and it about ruined me. maybe if you get you and a group of friends and try talking to her about it she might realize it and try to change. nobody should have to change themself for anybody especially because they like someone and the change is for the bad. hopefully everything works out. good luck!
