Okay, try asking her out. A girl will always say yes if you ask them out and they like you. Don't worry about asking a girl to dinner, it is so cute when a guy does that, not to mention VERY romantic. Ask her if she wants to see any new movies at the theater. Tell her that there are so many movies out you want to see and see if she says she wants to see a certain movie too. Then take that as ur opening and ask her if she wanted to go see it with you.

Six months and you haven't asked her out yet, better do it soon before either some other guy snatches her up or she only sees you as a friend. She won't ask you she's a girl, they want you to ask her. Simply say hey I'm taking you to dinner this weekend. Now if you take her to dinner pay attention to what she's wearing, if she's dressed up nice not slutty but nice then your good, but if you take her out and she's wearing something that she would normally wear to class, then hate to say it but she might see you as just a friend. If she's dressed up then once your date is over kiss her man you gotta do it, if your afraid to then whatever you do, never never ask can I kiss you, say do you want to kiss me, or I really want to kiss you, or just kiss her, or the classic just say kiss me.

Do not wait for something interesting to happen to ask her out. Take her out on an evening, plan a surprise perhaps something she adores. Make the evening interesting for her :-)
