I am constantly annoyed by the guys and men who stare at me when I am working out. So much so, I am thinking of transferring to a women's only gym. I don't consider myself a clad woman (I just wear loose shirt and sweats) - I never were tight clothes like spandex, sports bars, or short-shorts etc. I like to be comfortable while I am working out. So, I don't find that those types are clothes are conducive to that kind of comfort. Any suggestions to stop the staring? Also, what time do most of you like to work out? Any tips on fitting works out between school and part-time job? ~ Thanks!
To be honest, transferring to a women's only gym is probably a better idea. Guys go to the gym to pick up girls that they think are good looking, because most girls there are in better shape and it's easy to start a conversation at the gym. And as far as I know, a good amount of guys who go to the gym are the type that would stare so yeah, really can't help you there. personally, with school and work, I've been working out before dinner. If you can't fit that in, try early morning before your shower. It's a great way to start off the day and usually gives great results.
It doesn't matter what kind of clothes that you wear. If the gym is a sausage-fest before you get there, every guy is going to stare at the lonely or few girls that are there. If you are stuck to using a Co-ed gym, try to find one that has an even ratio of guys to girls.
Dam, I guess you have a hot body then. Anyways speaking from what I do. There are girls at the gym that I will check out, but I won't stare at them for too long. Why? Cause I'm here to workout my body, not to pick up or hit on young women.
However all guys aren't like me. I saw this one guy get face to face with this one girl that he was staring at. The girl told him to f*** off.
The reason guys do this its cause your motivation. Seeing your body makes us work harder and maybe to get your attention or to impress you a little.
Don't let a couple of guy's make you transfer to an all women's gym. Then you will have women stare at your body. Now days, that usually means that the woman is lesbian. Its your choice, want to get stared by straight men or by lesbian women?
I usually go after school on the weekends, and in the mornings on sat. Sun.
Unfortunately I don't men's stares to validate how I feel about my body. It is unwelcome. Like guys, women are also their to work on their bodies. Actually, women's gyms are supposed to be a comfortable and welcoming place where do not have to be self-conscious because some guy cannot keep his eye-balls in his sockets. Don't gay men work-out the co-ed gym too? Don't lesbian women work out at co-ed gyms too? - I suggest you do not make such grandoise statements. - 2 months ago

Lol, ok, the reason why I told you that if you go to an all women s club is because you will be checked out by the same sex. And yes they gym I have gone too(24), there have been gay guys check me out. I just look the other way and I tuck in my shirt. In other words, no matter where you go, you will have men s' and women s eyes on you. Sorry about my grandiose or complicated statement. - 2 months ago
Are you hanging out in the weight room, where the bench press and dumbbells are? If so then yeah that's why they are meat heads, if this is one of those 24hr places, go later in the evening
Well go late at night that's when I go more machines open. Well its because when you work out your hormones are pumping. Or early in the morning would be best the lookers usually go between 4 and 8. Good?
I heard if you work-out late at night, it is difficult to get to sleep. But, yes, I agree usually the machines are not taken up at that time. Point noted. - 2 months ago

I sleep pretty good when I do, its like having sex before you sleep you sleep hella good. Its just people make the mistake of eating lots of food after they work out so they sleep like crap, drink a protein shake or soy milk something with low sugars and carbs and drink a bottle water and it will go good. - 2 months ago
Hi there. I remember that in weight training, I had a partner that was a girl and she did not like lifting when she was getting watched by other guys. The main reason they were watching was because they knew she would complain/mess up/ etc. Oh, and did I add that she always wore short shorts? But anyway, I always told her to ignore them since they mainly wanted to laugh because of her mistakes, (not exactly anything sexual). In your case, the guys may be waiting for you to do a mistake so that they can chuckle amongst themselves. Also, it may be new to them watching the other sex lift weights, even if they aren't dressed provocatively. The guys in my class stopped after a while. Chances are that when your in the gym, there will always be different people there so maybe its just best that you go to an all female gym.
I find less guys work out in the morning/early afternoon so there is less staring. Just glare back at them (don't look away until they do), it usually freaks them out.
I personally like the attention and I take full advantage of checking everyone else but sometimes I just zone out when I'm working out so I might be staring at someone and not know it.
As for fitting exercise in with school and work, schedule yourself like 3 "must do workouts" a week that you won't cancel for and 1 that you'll do when you feel like it.
Have fun at the gym and don't let guys get you down.
I think I remember a question like this before. I think it is creepy when guys stare at the gym. I go to the gym to get my personal time in to working out, not be ogled by guys.
It can really make girls uncomfortable when guys are staring at them when they are trying to work out, especially older guys. Hopefully, guys take note. :-)
Ashley, you say that you work 3 different jobs (wow! ) - how do you find time to work-out? Yes, I find it really creepy. Sometimes I wonder if they come their to stare or actually work-out. It's really annoying. Thanks for the first response. - 2 months ago

Yeah three jobs takes up A LOT of my time. I haven't been to the gym in a while but I used to go every night. When I did there used to be this guy who was like 50 that stared all the time, so I would give him the dirtiest look possible so he would quit! - 2 months ago
so I go to the gym pretty much everyday. I personally like to stay in shape. (im not one of those guys who can't wipe their own ass cause their arms...

Just a quick question. How can I tell if a guy at the gym is interested in me? We see each other at the gym on a weekly basis and I smile at him...

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
My ideal first date would be to do something my date and I like. So if my date is into sports, we could go to a basketball or football game and since I'm a movie freak we could go to the movies afterwards and then finish up with dinner. I would wear casual clothes, jeans and a nice t-shirt. The date could end at my doorstep, the next date he might be able to come in.
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
Afterwards, my date would know a lot about. They would know about what I like to do for fun, they would know my favorites. I would tell them about my family and my lifestyle. I won't tell everything because there wouldn't anything left to tell on the next date.
