My new boyfriend is coming over to my house for the first time & is meeting my parents. Basically we're spending the afternoon in the living room. My parents are going to be around but I don't know what to do. Watching tv is boring but we can't like breathe near each other or they'll flip. Any suggestions?
First time at my girlfriend's house she showed me around and we went to her room and I looked through a sketchbook she had made (keep the door open though lol). Then we watched a movie, played a board game, and later went for a walk outside.
Anything where you are away from your parents but not suspicious is good if they don't like the idea of you having a boyfriend.
There are always board games and just sitting and talking. You may have to leave the house. Go to dinner with the parents or something. I find it more interesting that your parents don't approve of you being 'friendly' with your boyfriend. I think that is something the two of you can help get your parents used too.

Rent a few dvds. That, believe it or not, can be really fun. Just make sure that you both will enjoy them because then it can get boring if one of you is hating the movie. Best thing you can do, is go to the video store together and pick out the dvds. Then head to the pizza place and order a large, extra cheese to eat while watching the movies. Make sure when he gets to your house you have some microwave popcorn, soda and ice cream for dessert (or whatever you guys like to have for dessert).
I don't think your parents will mind too much if you at least cuddle on the couch with him, just don't go all full on PDA make out session on them and you'll be alright. Also they can even sit with you guys and watch a dvd, they'll probably get bored anyway and leave you guys alone after grilling him :)

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
On a first date we go and grab a coffee in a shop and talk about stuff we like, and then based upon mutual interests plan an outing then and there. Clothing should be normal, plain enough for every day to set a standard of how things are. Plus, whatever you go out and do, you should be willing to do it in those clothes, so suede isn't the best if you say you're going to the zoo.
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
She'll know what I like, what I'm like, and get an idea of how well I get her.
