Okay. There's this guy in a few of my classes and he tries to be really annoying to me but I still think he's really cute. Once he asked me, in quote, "do you hate me? " I have no idea what he means. All I said back was I don't know.? Plus I think that he might like me back, but I'm not really sure. So my question is, what should I say back if he asks this again. He's probably joking, even though I still don't know what he means, so what could I say that will just let him that he's a total pain, but I don't completely dislike him.?
Update: Also, what should I not say to him? Just in case you think that I shouldn't say something.

Just tell him he'd be decent boyfriend material if he toned it down and wasn't such an ass all the time. Or just dish it back out. Some guys don't know they are that annoying and think that's the proper way to flirt. Its like they never picked up new techniques after 4th grade or something.
Okay, guys will sometimes tease and pick on a girl to show they like you, yeah really stupid but it's what happens. He wouldn't ask you if you hated him if he was just trying to be an annoying jerk, he likes you and it's pretty obvious you like him back.
That's really up to you, you say you think he is an ass but still like him. If you figure out you don't like him then tell him you really do hate him, but if you don't hate him and like him, you could try saying outright I don't hate you but you could be an ass sometimes, this will probably both get him to change the way he's acting and will be an obvious sign when he stops acting that way that he does like you. - 4 days ago
I'm a little confused on where you stand on your feelings for him. You say he is cute but then your B vote says you don't want him. Besides that, he is definitely flirting with you even with asking the question do you hate me. If you do like him then you need to the next time he is annoying you, say in a joking way like laughing as you say 'ha ha you're so annoying. ' Eventually he won't be as annoying to you but more flirty in a good way. It shows that you can take his joking around. Now if you really don't like him in a dating type of way, then yes be blunt with him and say 'Hey it's not that I don't like as a person but you are really starting to annoy me with your blah blah. ' You know whatever he is doing. If anything he will respect you for standing up for yourself.

That's is very smart of you to know that about him already. Some girls would date him and then find out he is really an a**. Then definitely you should just be honest with him about his behavior towards you. If he ask you again if you hate him, then say No I don't hate you but you can be an a** at times. What is your favorite outfit for a night out with friends?
To a bar: A silky or satiny shirt that shows off my cleavage, and nice fitting pants...usually jeans.
