I have this wonderful friend, she is as close to perfect for me as a woman can get. She has two daughters that love me and I also love very much. We enjoy doing everything together as a couple and also as a family.
She loves all the things that I do and very little things that I'm not to fond of! Every time we get close to what seems like a romantic moment I get scared and do some stupid guy things to change the moment.
Now my reasoning for this is very childish, I was in a 14 year marriage to whom I believed was my first love, but not even my ex-wife made me feel like this. I'm afraid to make the first move even though their is chemistry there, and I can say with a smile that this is the first lady that has ever made my feel proud to be a man!!!
Next time you are in one of those moments, or even if you want to create one, just take a deep breath and go slow. Touch her hair and her face and kiss her lightly. Then pull back, look in her eyes and you two can gauge whether moving to this next level is the right thing to do. Then...things will just go from there. If she's not comfortable and pulls away, do your best to let it go and stay close friends. It's worth a shot because it could be one of those incredible relationships destined for a life of love! Or it could be that you're just supposed to be super good friends and that's okay too. Either way, you are close enough to give it a try without jeopardizing the friendship you've built over the years. And, damn, if you tell her the kinds of things you wrote on this site, she's all yours!
Listen Joe, if you get through one romantic moment with her that should do alot. When you see you're about to go through a moment, think to yourself "I'm doing it, I'm doing it"! While you're doing it. Make the first move, not too strong, but strong!
