If you started getting to know a girl and have feelings for her but suddenly found out that she has an eating disorder what would you do? Would it make you think less of her?

Also, are girls with eating disorders undateable to you?

I had a girlfriend for about 5 years, and 3 months into I learned that she had an eating disorder. I stayed with her for the years after, and tried to help. I don't think that it should be a make or break scenario, if there's feelings there then it shouldn't get in the way.

From my own personal experience, there are significant problems that can arise from being in a relationship with someone with an eating disorder. A lot of the time, this lack of confidence that they have really makes it hard to feel anything for someone.

Honestly, my advice is to try and take care of yourself before you try to date. While it doesn't make you undatable, it doesn't make dating you any better and it certainly doesn't make you more healthy, or give any benefit at all really.

Hope this helps.

Also, if it gets to a certain point, it will greatly affect what you can do with your life, as far as going out for certain times and being able to even go to college. Once your deep into an eating disorder, it becomes more important then anything in your life.

Those points I made above were probably the most difficult thing about dealing with it, she always seemed zoned out and not with things. On top of that, she was an emotional mess.

It would make me feel sorry for her, not less of her. I'd probably try to help her change her behavior, improve her self esteem, and figure out a healthy balance between diet and exercise so she doesn't need to continue feeding this disorder. No, it won't make her undatable.

Hey I hope that you find peace with your illness.

Eating disorders suck and when I had one I was entirely consumed with it. I didn't date, I hardly had any friends. I used it to push people away. I would think that dating a person with a mental illness would be hard, as with any addiction. You have to learn to love yourself before you can accept love from others.

Guys: Do you really fall in love with a girl?
lvrgirl2011 asked Yesterday

Yes, I've been in love.

No, I've never been in love.

I'm scared to love someone.

LOVE is an over-used word that doesn't have meaning.

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
I would go to a nice restaurant that's not too fancy. A nice button down shirt, jeans, shoes, the good stuff. The date would end with me bringing her to her door and a hug, maybe a kiss.

Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
She'll know what I like, what my hobbies are, and other things along those lines.

Would you date me?
