I've been overweight all my life. So I lost 55 pounds in a year (doctor's orders) and I look really good and feel good too. So why am I still so self-conscious? I feel like people are always looking at me and judging me. Why can't I get over the no self-esteem?

Congratulations on the weight loss and becoming more healthy!

You'll grow less self-conscious with time. Stick-thin people can be self-conscious too; it's just a matter of being comfortable with yourself. Sooner or later, you'll discover that your weight has only a small influence over people's perceptions of you, and even less influence once they get to know you.

I have the same problem, I had acne for 13 years. It was horrible, but I am slowly getting that image of myself out of my head. If there are people in your life that can comment about how they like the new you, and congratulate you, that tends to help. I'm not saying, go out and tell everyone to pump you up with praise. Just allow yourself to accept it when people do! When someone tells you "hey you look great! Good job. "take a second to remind yourself, that you already know you look better, just mentally think to yourself "yeah, they are right!"

It sounds like you still have the same feelings inside that you did when you were heavier. Give yourself a little time to adjust to the "new you". People are really not judging you the way you think they are. Just relax, and you should feel better after a little time has passed. Good luck, and congratulations on the weight loss; I know it wasn't easy for you.

You may think you're still that big. I have that problem from time to time.
Just feel good and think positive. I know it gets hard at times, but keep your chin up.
It's the only way to get those bad thoughts our of your head.

Well the reason you probably have the low self-esteem is probably because you have had low self-esteem all your life and it's taking some getting use to. But just remember, just because people are starring at you doesn't mean it has to be a bad thing.
*good luck*

joslynlove (Age:18 to 24)

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
For me first date I would not mind if a guy takes me out to dinner or he can cook dinner that's even better because I love a guy that can cook... and I would wear something nice like a dress and come cute heels and my hair will be pinned up.. I hope my date will end up with a kiss and a second date...

Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
He will know my name.. JOSLYN also he will know my birthday 06/08/90 and my age I'm 17 years old and if I have kids with I don't have kid and I would like to someday when the time is right. Then I will talk about where I work... and he will know what I like and dis like in a man... and most important I will know a lot about him also. IF he a nice guy he will ask me on a second date...

Would you date me?
