Do you guys ever break up with your girlfriend and then realize you made a mistake?

I'm not talking about those 1 month kind of relationships that aren't so serious, but a 4 month relationship that was pretty serious, I know he cared for me a lot we could tell each other anything and everything, we were like best friends. Everything was going fine -, so why did he change his mind so suddenly, do guys eva realise they made a huge mistake after breaking up with their girlfriend? Pls tell me I'm so confused and hurt.

Sometimes guys get spooked when things get serious. They realize it's headed for a longer term commitment and they freak. Most of the time they come back, if this is the reason. They just need time to work it out on their own. Good luck
