I told this guy that I wanted a relationship with someone, not just another hookup. He told me that he doesn't mind relationships, it's just he doesn't want to do anything too soon/jump into a relationship. Will he ever want a relationship? How long should I give this (meaning as of now we are hooking up/hanging out)?
He minds, otherwise he wouldn't have gone through that drawn-out explanation. If a guy didn't mind being in a relationship, the reply to you would have been much simpler.
I'd say give it a month or two. He probably won't be able to last much beyond that if he's wanting only sex.
You should "give it" as long as you feel OK giving away something for nothing. He will continue to string you along on the path towards a relationship as long as you let him. An old saying applies here...:"Why buy a cow while the milk is free?" Sure, he will "want" a relationship as soon as you stop giving away the milk. It is up to you to decide when the sale is over. Good luck.
The guy I like is completely scared of getting involved with women because of some bad past experiences. But he pursued me and acts shy and follows...
