I got a girlfriend, but she's living in Shanghai and I'm in Rome. So,10000Km far away from each other. We met just twice in 1.5 years. Its not possible to keep going on like this. Too sad and bad!
What to do. How to keep our relationship. No way to give it up!
Please. Help me to find a way out!

I feel your pain - I would say best solution is for one of you to move to the other either her to Rome or you to Shanghai. Talk to her about it and see what she is thinking *she might be willing to move if she knew you wanted her to live with you*

That option isn't however always an option- my situation for example - he can't move and right now I can't either and if that is the case you need to just talk and figure out exactly how to handle it. I can say from my experiences the best relationship I ever had was with someone long distance, but it was also the hardest and it takes a lot of work and is painful to be away from them. In what I have learned talking about it and figuring out exactly how you feel *both with yourself and her* and just being honestly is the only thing that helps in the end. As much as I hate saying it if it can only go on how it is and your not happy with it change it *that might mean ending it* but if in the end she means more to you than that then you find a way for it to work.

Haha ! this is so romantic ! sounds like the original leap year story about the two couples living far apart . Have you ever tried to apply to China for further studies, or working there?

The plain answer...Move. Move to Shanghai. If you aren't totally certain then leave yourself an out back in Rome but move to Shanghai anyways because a long distance relationship isn't really a relationship at all. Pen Pals are cool but not as a relationship. A girls family and support network are much more important to her than the guys. Guys are more like solo wolves (parden the analogy) and they can move much easier than a girl. If you get to Shanghai and all is wonderful then you can marry and move back to Rome later. Either way you're together or you're not. Good luck.

lovebird01 I agree! What you say makes sense. I'm in the same boat, and neither one of us is in postition to move just now. So we just carry on with the long distance, and wait for our chance. As he said, no way to give it up! I would be miserable without her love! - 7 months ago

Boy, do I ever know where you are coming from! Unfortunately, I can't give you much advice on this one, because its my problem, too! I live in the USA, and my girlfriend lives in Finland. And like you, no way to give it up! I guess i'll have to read the other answers you get to help me too.
