Has anyone else experienced something similar to this? How did you deal with it? What it as bad as you thought it would be?

So I'm on the home stretch of our long distance relationship, and we'll finally get time to spend with each other again after 7 months (I visited half way through though). But I've just kind of noticed from the way she talks online and over the phone, and where her interests lie, and in fact her personality (As horrible as it is to admit, I feel like she's become extremely arrogant and bitchy since she left)... all completely different to the girl I fell in love with. As tempting as it is to blame it on communicating over MSN/the phone verses face-to-face, I'm very sure she's different...

I imagine she's becoming frustrated with it.. LDRs aren't easy.. You might want to try to hang through it to see if it becomes any better when you see her.. and talk to her in person about it.. I wouldn't talk to her on the phone or online about a serious matter like this.. ask her if this is still what she wants..and re-evaluate if this is what you want for yourself.. LDRs are a lot of patience and hard work that not everyone can handle.

I have. I don't recommend LDRs because of this. Me and my boyfriend(ex now) were pretty much inseperable when we lived in the same area. Well, his dad got a new job, in five states away. We both were still in agreement that we'd try the long distance and stay together.
It went alright for about half a year, then he started to get really snappy, and full of himself. A complete 180 degree turn around of what he used to be. He was a different person, and I felt like I didn't even know him. Of course I ended the relationship because it was apparent that he'd rather be with someone closer.
It's different with every relationship. Mine was worse than I thought it was. Many people think LDRs are easy, and that they will make it through, but realistically it doesn't always work that way. It was hard to deal with it, because you see your friends with their boyfriend/girlfriend, and you want to be with your's, but you can't. It was hard.
