I've known this guy for about 5 years. We were really close friends and he was the sweetest guy in the world. He told me that he liked me once but I brushed it off because I was in a relationship with someone else, but I still liked him back. My boyfriend at the time told me to stop talking to him because he gets jealous and I did. I've ALWAYS liked him more than a friend. He took real good care of me, but I hadn't always returned the favor. He changed since the time I stopped talking to him as much and is more like my ex-boyfriend now, and I think that is because he probably thought I was into guys like him. Now I would do anything to get the old him back. He's in a relationship with this girl that he used to hate before but he's still really nice to me and he flirts with me. Should I keep trying to get him back?
Sounds like a really complicated situation. If he is no longer the person you know, I doubt he will suddenly go back to his old self. I would just find someone else, but that's just me. I don't like to mess with complicated realtionships. Keep it simple I say.
You trying to get him back while he's in a relationship will ruin your character. None of us are perfect, but you cannot let yourself be okay with doing something that is wrong. You trying to get him back now would be you coaxing him out of a relationship and stealing him from the girl. Even if she's not good for him, you need to walk the right path and wait for him if for nothing else than at least for your character.
And you should not be okay with him flirting with you when he's in a relationship with another girl. Don't let your feelings blind you from what is right and what is wrong. In the long run, miss, not listening to my advice will make things much worse than they might seem now. ALL the best!
I'm not trying to coax him out of the relationship he's in, no matter how much I don't like the girl he's with, because I know what it's like to be cheated on. What I really want to know is if he likes me like I like him. Or if I can try getting the old him back, whether we're in a relationship or not. - 7 months ago

Just try to tell him somehow that you always liked him. because there is nothing wrong telling someone the truth about a feeling that's always been there. if he's still flirting with you then maybe there is still feeling there. I'm not a 100% sure. but don't give up just yet see what happens I guess. good luck tho
