So my girlfriend, on her own accord, clears her old boyfriend's numbers out of her phone. Then later out of the blue yells, "You better not screw me over!" Confused I ask for further explanation and she says she meant that she was giving up any possible boyfriend backup plan for me. So on one hand, it's a good thing. I mean, she's saying that she's putting her faith in me but is scared. On the other hand, we've been together for about 2 years and I haven't known about these backup plans. Ok, why did she clear the numbers in the first place? Guilt is the only reason I can think of. However, why yell at me? Also, why is it a sacrifice to give up old contacts for your current partner? Finally, why feel the need to tell me? Is she wanting me to recognize her for her sacrifice?

She seems a little psycho to me brother! I am 31 and I don't understand that juvenile mentality. If she is within a certain age range - lets says over 21, then all she is doing is playing mind games with you. Why wld she feel the need to say that? Let me ask you this, if a buddy of yours asked you this same question - what advice wld you give him?

She doesn't seem all that together - if you want a mature, together woman - she doesn't seem like the one to me and if a man that I was with said that, it wld be a total red flag!

Question Asker Do you think some people consciously play mind games with their partners? If so, can you tell when they are doing it? - 5 months ago
Answerer Yes, there are women that play mind games - mostly to get what they want out of them. She sd that because she wants you to feel blessed that she chose you. So, later on when she wants something or requests something of you - she will be able to say - I chose to be with you, you cld at least give this or do that for me! Trust me, that convo WILL happen! - 5 months ago
Answerer Reevaluate your relationship..... What do you bring to the table? What is it that she says is important to her that you provide for her? Do you know? What is it - beyond beauty that she gives to the relationship? She obviously isn't good for your emotional well-being from that comment she made! A true caring relationship is one where you both are vulnerable and yet its the most exhilerating, wonderful, scary-ass thing that 2 people share! - 5 months ago

I think she wants you to recognize what she did, even though any good person would have done that by now. Maybe she is upset that she's letting go? I don't know why any girl would make up this big a deal of this.

By her yelling it and announcing that to you, she IS wanting you recognize her for that "sacrifice", when in reality there's nothing sacrificial about it - it's a purely selfish move on her part. I think it was pretty disrespectful of her to even acknowledge that she has a "backup" plan, when she's been with you for 2 years. Actions like that seem to indicate that she has some major baggage/relationship issues.

She's going to turn into a high-maintenance bitch down the road and this is one the signs by the road telling you to turn the hell around and fast.

It's not like she can't get any numbers she deleted back whenever she wants to. Sounds like she just wanted to show you up.

Question Asker Wow, I told her that she could get any of those numbers back too. Thanks just for saying that much cause if validates part of my argument. The problem is that this woman is hotter than anything I've even seen. That fact alone makes walking away very very difficult. I wonder if my grip on her hotness can withstand the torrent of sh*t eroding my esteem away. - 5 months ago
Emilymarie77 No amt of hottness is worth being treated that way and if you wld put up with it because of what she looks like - makes me think you have some self-esteem issues. Pls don't sacrifice your dignity just to have sum hot psycho babe on your arm. Life is too short to waste time on things that shld have ended or never begun. - 5 months ago
