Throughout the years I've heard that men don't really want friendships with girls and that if in fact she is your "friend" its actually because you are attracted to her and would sleep with her if given the chance. How true is this?
Quite true for most guys I would say. Age can lessen this effect somewhat. Imagine you meeting a 70+ guy in a park, and start chatting, and develop a pure friendship, i.e. the idea of sex never crosses BOTH your minds. That's perfectly plausible, isn't it? He is treating you like his grand-daughter. But if you meet a 30/40/50+ guy in that park, and become friends, that gets trickier, especially you are physically attractive (at least in his eyes), you see what I mean?
Anonymous User below has a point. I have seen seen many a "I enjoy mingling with with boys more with girls" kind of "boyish girls" on purpose, i.e. choose to mingle around boys. Who knows why? Maybe their soul spent too many pastlives being a guy, and decided to have some change this time by being a girl, but ended up having a "bias" toward leaning toward the guys, which "strangely find a more comfortable". Something like, "I wanna be around males, they are more honest, straightforward, frank..etc. ... because "I am like that myself".
Result: guess how many "unaware" signals these girls sent out, and how much jeolousy, hurt, resentment they caused in the end, when one guy in the group (usually more than one) find her sexually attractive? How many friendships these girls wreck? And all the while she insisted, "I just enjoy mingling around guys, I don't get along with those girls...etc." For girls like that, they should WRITE it on a big sign what their intentions are, when they mingle with guys.
This really bugs me. If women do not want to hook up THEN DON'T talk to us men. Nothing is more confusing. If you want to talk to us and not hook up, then don't be offended when we think you are trying to hook up.
My best guy friend is gay lol, so that kind of blows that argument out of the water. I have a lot of guy friends who I'm not attracted to at all, and some that definitely aren't attracted to me. This sentiment is starting to bug me. Guys aren't all complete pigs.
i think guys can only be friends with a girl if there's absolutely no attraction, otherwise yeah they're just looking to score if the opportunity allows it
