I met this guy, I've been seeing him for like 3months now, I never been able to tell my dad I've had a boyfriend or anything, well I thought I was pregnant so my sister made me tell my dad. But now my dad doesn't trust me he said I have to stop seeing the guy but he doesn't know who it is but if I said I have a boyfriend he will know it's that guy, Should I wait for a bit to tell my dad I have a boyfriend and how do I tell him? I find it hard, I feel like I'm not allowed to have a boyfriend, I'm 17, I'm too scared to tell my dad anything especially now he doesn't trust me, What should I do?
Well, since you're 17 and under your dad's authority - no matter how much you may disagree with it - you should honor him and obey what he says. It seems as though he is truly looking out for your best interest, and loves you enough to step on your toes so that he can protect your heart. He really does want what's best for you, and I definitely respect him for that.
As an older guy (I'm 24), please save what's left of your heart for a guy that's truly worth it, and wait for the kind of guy you're ready to get married to. You've still got a ton of life left to live and a ton of experiences to go through without having the complications of a sexual relationship to deal with. In the long run, it's not worth the scars you're already building up.
