Ok, I have this guy friend who has been repeatedly rejected. He' s a great guy, is just, he isn't as handsome as some of the guys the girls he asked out goes for. He's not bad looking or anything. Now he just feels like there's nobody out there who would like him for him. How do I bump his confidence up?
I take it by your age that this guy is also young. For starters I would tell him the things that you like about him and that any girl who would not go out with him based on his looks is probably not the girl for him anyway. The teenage years can be cruel, I can remember mine were. Just encourage him not to quit trying. Sometimes you have to sort through a lot of coal to find your diamond!
Confidence comes from within, although I do agree with mikew that you can certainly help his confidence but you can tell me I'm this and that as much as you want but if I don't feel the same, it'll just be a false sense of self.
Just continue to be his friend and a positive influence but know that his confidence will ultimately be his own doing. - 7 months ago
