Have you ever wondered why you always see people with somebody, but you're left alone and lonely? That's my situation... I'm 18 and I don't have much of a social life. I moved to a different part of my country (where I had quite a few friends) but now that I'm here in a totally new place, I don't know anyone. Where I am it seems that whoever I approach is not interested in me or a complete asshole. (sorry for the expression). But that's how I feel... Maybe it's all in my head, but things have been really weird lately. I wasn't an overly popular person in school and I was always more of a lone wolf than anything else. I just feel like I'm missing out while life is passing me by for some reason. Sometimes I'm content with myself, while at other times I just hate myself and the way my life is. I realize that the only person I can change is myself and it's not that a haven't tried to do that a million times already. But, I've run out of strategies and ideas to improve the person I am and I think I might need some advice. Comments are welcome. Thanks.
MAybe nothing's really wrong with you, it's just the girls that you might be interested don't feel the same way about you/? I would say just have fun right now. Do what you love to do. You're only 18, and I don't think you should worry that much about having a girlfriend right now. Unless, do you just want a girlfriend just because you feel lonely or whatever?. Anyways I know what it's like to move and to feel the way you feel because it's happened to me before, but I didn't care about guys even tho They were interested I did what made me happy and what I was more interested in. You still have time to find that one special person. If you don't have a job you should go find one, that's how I made some new friends.I mean they were my age and stuff, you know how they have people way older than you. Maybe you could try working at a mall. Hope I helped.

That movie might not help, but it certainly makes you think about getting yourself more opportunities in general. In this movie he is the typical loner... saying no for too many invites on different topics, until he decides to start saying "yes". Focus on the things you're interested in. Sports, any Media, some Events, whatever. Try to get into talking with the guys/girls at school, just ask them what they're doing after school and if they would mind you accompanying (hopefully that word exists :P)
As for girls... Well I'm 23 and it's just now that I'm really feeling like "what the f*** was I doing until now" ;) Asking a girl out actually isn't that difficult at all. I did and it's been quite great the past months and soon I'm gonna ask her out for real, to be with me, that is.
It's all about getting an more open mind and getting some guts.
