if some of you don't know PDA is public display of affection. its like kissing in public well do you think its gay that you get detention for kissing in the hall at school. I just recently had detention and I thought it was the stupidest reason ever I mean he is my boyfriend and of course I wanna kiss him why is that so wrong and the lady that wrote me and him up is a bitch I hate her and I never seen her before in my life. so what do you think?
Don't think detention is stupid. There's a reason for school standards. You would be well to respect them. PDA, as you describe it, is at the least, undignified. It shows that you posesss little self-respect or self-control.
Wow. You should ask how much trouble you'd get if you two started dry humping in the hall. I mean if you were skipping class or taking up the door causing a traffic jam of people I could understand, but just kissing?
You need to get your schools rule book and read it for this "rule" and if not look for loopholes ( or get a smart friend to help instead).
In my day, I found a loophole that said that you backpack, locker, car, and purse can be searched by the admins, but it never said they could search your pockets. I saved many a friend's cell for this action. if there is nothing in your schools rulebook about it, then there should be no problem next time you wanna kiss your BF.
And to the larger picture: People are sooo scared of anything sexual nowadays, its constricting people's lives.
When I see a couple in the hall way making up, I just step over them (kidding) and move along. No heads explode. No damage to me.
You're in school to get an education, not make out with your boyfriend. In that setting it is inappropriate, and that is reinforced by the fact they have rules against it. And as for it being gay, not much else is gay other than two people of the same gender have sexual relations with one another.
She meant gay as in stupid, not the acceptable version of the word as homosexual. - 15 days ago

...And you think I didn't realize that? Gee thanks. The fact is, it's ignorant rude, and offensive to make an insult of something like that. But it's only 'the gays' who cares about them anyways, right!? - 15 days ago
you knew there was a rule against it, and you still did it, doesn't sound like the teacher was a bitch, more like you are still immature. I think the rule sounds pretty good to me, I graduated 5 years ago, and I would have loved to have had that rule then, I was forced to see some less then attractive couples groping each other and making out in the most disgusting way as I was trying to go into my next class.
Haha, I've gotten written up for that too. It was so stupid, I spent an entire day in ISS for that. Just recently, my boyfriend, a few friends, and myself were all just messing around and being stupid and my boyfriend licked the side of my face. A teacher saw and like freaked out. It wasn't PDA and it wasn't meant to be PDA, but she still sent us both to the office. It ended with my boyfriend just getting a warning. But seriously, everyone was laughing and joking around so it was obviously not PDA.
I personally love PDA and I have also been written up for it. Yes I agree fully that it is a stupid rule as long as you are not making out and such they shouldn't care with just a little kiss. :) :P :D XD
