What Guys Said

Rather harsh question on your parents just because they said no to the guy.

Guess you would have already tried speaking to your parents bout him, any reason in particular they gave for refusing to meet him. They are jittery from their experiences, yet if they give sound reasoning to their words its better you listen.

You are way too young to battle out. Am pretty sure as a kid you would have had some way of getting through to them when they said no to you. Try the same, it might work :-)

Question Asker I don't agree with them my parents are racist and I go to an almost black school and they don't care. Now tell me what wrong with them not letting me date a guy with a different background? It sucks because he is the only one that thinks I'm great but they don't understand that :( - 7 months ago
Answerer I realized I would be getting a down rating on this one.

When you are standing at one corner of a triangle, it is always best to think that there are 2 more corners and not just one. Can't say why they do not agree even if they are racists but best people to talk and advise would be either your siblings (if older) or the student counselor (if he is a closer friend). Getting inputs from internet would just fuel your imagination. - 7 months ago
Question Asker Ook but me and my boyfriend known each other for along time and my parents never knew I was friends with him because of his color and it kills me because they won't except at all which really sucks :( - 7 months ago
Answerer Thats fine. You know sometimes it kills to be on the offensive, Don know when its legal over there to cry out loud that something wrong is being done against you. But at 16 you have the whole life in front of you. BTW what religion does your parents follow that outcasts the boy? - 7 months ago
Question Asker Its not religion its the color of his skin I go to a bad school they call it but he is not bad he is a nice guy and his family is not like that - 7 months ago

OMG NO WAY! I would keep my boyfriend if I really liked him and told my parents this isn't your life its mine. Its not what's on the outside that counts. Its what's on the INSIDE! I don't care what his color is. He's my boyfriend and just because you don't like his color doesn't mean I'm gonna break up with him!

Question Asker I still have him, and well now we are getting in to fights about my parents, and I am trying to not yell at him at all because he is just mad at my parents and not at me right? Because my friends say he is really nice and sweat to me but my parents won't listen because of his color I'm really lost at this point, :( - 7 months ago

You need to sit down and express to them how important it is for you that they meet the boy. Tell them how much they're hurting you by not doing so. I would try talking to one parent alone first and try to convince them. If the one budges maybe they'll help you convince the other one. Good luck!

Honestly, I wouldn't know if I was in your position either. I'm so sorry you're going through that. Talk to your parents. Like sit down and talk to them. And if they're still hurting you and they don't realize it, well. Sucks because, its your life. It's not for them to decide what you want.
