Is it wrong if when he says that he wants to marry me, I say that I don't believe him and I'll believe it when I see a ring?
He is going to school 4 hrs away for a year, so I want to know he is committed so I won't waste my time waiting for him. We went looking at rings and it seems like he really wants to do it.
Let me get this straight---if you get a ring then you know this guy is fully committed? Hilarious! I wish life was that simple.
If you're basing the level of commitment on a ring, with all due respect, it seems somebody needs to go through a lot of 'reconditioning'. Best of luck, and condolences to your boyfriend.
Lol that's a bit harsh, isn't it? It really was his idea, because he's been saying that ever since he met me. I just would like to see some follow through and I said that. - 7 months ago

Yea, a bit harsh, but you can also see it this way; he came up with the ring idea, but who is the person inquiring about seeing the ring to make sure is a full commitment? Matter of fact, another way of thinking is, 'i don't need a ring to see commitment. ' The real question is---do you really think that by having a ring on your hand you can tell how committed he is? ;) - 7 months ago
If you two both want to get married and you're both ready, then absolutely not. You don't want to bug or nag him. But some people definitely need some motivation, or something to get the ball rolling. If it helps him to do it, great, if it doesn't, then maybe he's not the right one for you.
