I've been seeing this guy for about 6 weeks and everything's been going great. But a couple of nights ago his 'friend' was trying to come onto me. I said "I'm only seeing ... *dont want to say any names here!*" and he replied with "Well you're not the only girl he's seeing". When I questioned further he said "no you are the only girl..." but avoided any further questions.
Then last night my flatmate was out with them and seen him kiss another girl. She only turned round to see them pulling apart so I don't know how serious it was. But putting 2 and 2 together... What should I do? I really like him but we've never had the 'exclusivity chat' (hoped we wouldn't need to) so I don't know if bringing it up would even be appropriate. Am I over-reacting? What should I do?
No, you are not overreacting. This is a red flag. Be grateful you found out now, before getting into a serious relationship with him.
There are people who think it is OK for people to be casually dating more than one person, but in this kind of situation, everyone involved should know what is going on. This guy is seeing other girls behind your back. Cheaters don't change, so if you don't want to be cheated on, move on.
I would say I agree with the first answer ask him... If he is not willing to talk about it then that usually means he is also if he gets real definsive real quick then you know something is up... I am not saying I know who he is or anything just stating what most guys behavior is
I am not going to excuse his behavior but is it understood that you both are exclusive? IF it is, then his actions are disrespectful and a huge red flag. However, if you both never formally discussed or agreed that the relationship was exclusive then he is free to see who he wants. In this case, you really don't have justification to confront him or be angry.
