Indifference hurts more. If they hate you, you KNOW why. Could be something you've done or just how they FEEL about you. Indifference means they don't give you a second thought and you're insignificant. And, you never know why they feel nothing for you. A huge blow to the self-esteem.

I would say indifference, only because if someone hates you is only out of some kind of hurt and pain they may be experiencing.
