I'm 23 and this is my first time having a boyfriend. I really love him and he loves me, but we live in different States. He lives in IL and I live in AR. I trust that he won't cheat on me and I definitely won't cheat on him, but could you guys and girls give me some advice on keeping this relationship intact. Thanks

Being in a ldr myself I wish we lived close like that. She's from Kansas and I'm from Boston. But communication is very important and setting a goal to be with each other as well. What ever you do try not to get into any fights because they can be heart wrenching and even worse not being able to physically make up.

Yes it can work.

Try write him letter by mail. He will love it. There is nothing better than a letter from the lover.

i know how you feel I was in this long distance relationship also. Me and him were dating for like for like 5 months everything was great. until his parents were always fighting and the he wanted a break. So we went on break he didn't call for 2 weeks. So then I was thinking he didn't wanna talk to me anymore but I was wrong. He called me like 1 week later told me he was sorry he said he still loved & and cared about me a lot.So now every night we talk but were not dating again but I hope we do but I don't know if the long distance relationships really work so good. All my friend were like your wasting your time and my mom said the same thing. And every day she was like ohh nothing we never be come of it was like okay wtf. I get it you don't need to tell me anymore. I hope you the bes try to talk to him A LOT as much as you can. Hoped that helped.

Angelina =)

Uptown-Boy I hear that. My girl wants some space because we have not been doing to well the last 6 months out of 17. So it can be pretty rough. - 2 months ago

I am sure that it can work as long as you both love each other enough and visit each other often ;)
good luck!

Ok I know long distance relationships can work but mostly don't you can't stay long distance forever at some stage to make it work in the longterm one of you is going to have to compromise and move to the place the other lives in !

I'm in a long distance relationship now, today is our 16th month together :] . and we get along really well. absence makes the heart grow fonder. as long as you talk to him all the time and occasionally try to visit him then you'll probably be fine :]

Always keep communication open. And always always say how you feel about things. Send little emails just to say hi and hows your day going. Or thinking about you. And whenever you can visit each other do so. That's about all I can say. Hope it helps

Seenthatmovietoo RedneckAngel is right with her suggestions but it still may not make ANY difference as long distance = lost relationships. Sorry. There are just simply far too many other factors already to deal with in a real relationship and adding in a long distance is just not a good recipe for success. Good luck. - 4 months ago
Question Asker Thanx. I'll be sure to do these things. - 4 months ago

First do you know where he lives. If you do make a surprise visit. Call once in a while. Tell how you feel

Advice: How To Be The Perfect Boyfriend
Does it ever annoy you that you're single?
random-ren asked 20 days ago

Yes, most of the time! I really wish I had a boyfriend/girlfriend!

A little, because I feel left out.

Not really...

Nope! I have too much fun being single!

What's there to be annoyed about?

What pickup lines do you use to start a conversation with someone you are attracted to?
- Excuse me Miss, I was watching you from over there and I have to say that I just love your smile. It makes me happy just to just sit and watch you smiling. Could you please do that again?

(she hopefully smiles and gives up a sweet happy laugh)

- Oh dear, you just made my day - both a lovely smile and a lovely laughter! Thanks for making my day, Miss.

How do they typically respond?
Well, to be honest I haven't tried it yet since I almost never go out nowadays, but I wouldn't hesitate it I was to be in this situation. The way I do it, I would not be pushy or anything. After my last comment I would probably leave her for now, but try to bump in to her again later that evening, smile and ask for that lovely laugh again. And then maybe, we can start to have a conversation.

Do I have the right approach?
