they don't want to look like pussies in front of their friends just like what GruffBalloon said. but then in the overall scheme of things.HE IS A PUSSY because he isn't MAN enough to treat you nicely REGARDLESS of what his friends think or say. If his friends give him crap it is a manifestation of insecurity.however if they talk shit about his girl, that's definitely not in the spirit of brotherhood. True friends show respect - A little kidding around is normal but making demeaning remarks is not.
Competition amongst complaining, lol, check it out: Conversation between guy a and guy b guy a: did you see the game last night? what was the score? guy b: yeah, great game. Close score, too 27-24. guy a: man I wish I had gotten to see that one. My girl won't let me watch monday night football in the bedroom (lol, just an example) guy b: yeah, . I know how ya feel . well (timeout: now at this point the guy in guy b's situation will either relate, compete or brush it off . time in) I was trying to plan a fishing trip and the miss's shot it down completely. blah blah blah guy a: yeah I was working on a hot rod in the garage and I was told that we need the garage space for other things. Now they're competing, and complaining, lol. This guy should of got a TiVO, lol. Then he could of watched the game the next day/whatever. J/k; but they would of had a totally different conversation if he had one, lol.
But when he got home, he was like: guy a: hey darling, just got back from guy b's house, had a few drinks. How was your day?
And Idk, maybe it's me or the people I encounter but it seems like 1/3 of the people want what 1/3 of the others have and 1/3 is content while the 1/3 that have things that other wants are still striving for more. I know it's kind of confusing. But guy a would fall into the want what other have category, in this short story.
That's really just a sign of immaturity, a guy trying to look cool in front of his friends, to show that he's in control, and that he's not subservient to you. Like I said, it's just childish behavior.
I want my friends to respect my lady, so they'll never see me disrespect her. On the other hand, if I have a reason to be a jerk, I'll do it in private.
Hes not to me but does stupid stuff like shoot birds with bb guns and that stuff. he is wiped so he respects me - 4 months ago

I act like a jerk around my friends because they don't argue about what I am doing with them or against them unlike my girlfriend which gets on my case for every little thing I do wrong.
Some guys feel like they need to put on a "hard" act in front of their friends. Why? So their friends won't think they're "pussies".
Guys like this often feel like they need to impress their friends. if it happens just be honest and tell him. if he really likes you than he will change. if not find somebody who deserves your time and affection
I agree with dohcrwd. A man who thinks that he will immaculate himself just by being sweet on his girl in front of his friends is no man at all, he is just a boy. - 4 months ago
