i once asked a fella to wait for me until I broke up with my boyfriend I was so head over heels for the fella who was waiting for me and I broke up with my boyfriend nearly straight away for that guy and he was lovely everything I ever wanted it just didn't work.if she brakes up with her boyfriend now I'm guessing your more than he will ever mean to her but if she makes you wait forever I would question if this girl actually likes you or just doesn't want to lose your attention

Nobody can, or should forget about their past. She needs to give him up, because she knows he is not right for her. If that is the case, don't worry about it. Competition is not a healthy behavior in any relationship, so don't try to compete with her memories. Give your self to her and show her she can do the same with you.
Earn her trust and no one can ever negate that. Be yourself, if it works out, thank God. If it doesn't, thank God. In any case, thank God, because He loves you and watches over you, redeeming the pain and burdens you have taken up, in order to protect your self. If she is precious to you, show it, don't just talk about it. Invest time in her, without demanding the same from her. If she is able to reciprocate, thank God. If she is not, it may not be meant to be, but you can let God deal with that.
