Well, I am a strong believer in the theory that men and women cannot truly be friends without some underlying motive on one of the person's part. I can completely understand where she is coming from especially if you and her have any kind of sexual history.

How long have you been dating first of all? When you bring a girl into the picture and you have a girlfriend there may be conflict. Obviously in your situation there is. So what you can do is build a foundation of trust with your girlfriend and with this friend of yours. Go out and have dinner together or something. talk about the old times. As long as this friend of yours sees you only as a friend its no big deal. But if she is calling you late, flirting with you then your girlfriend has a point.

I would understand your girlfriend but also your best friend .... but relationships are not tend to be forever friends are. so tell me.. are you willing to sacrifice you friendship for a girlfriend that in any minute you can loose or sacrifice a girlfriend for a best friend something that you will always have?

Also, make sure to keep any flirting or overly friendly behavior to a minimun especially when your girlfriend is around. But don't ditch or lose a friend over this!
