Why do we stay in bad relationships?

I was in a bad relationship. all he wanted was to get some stuff from me. I knew it too and I never gave it to him but we still hung out all the time. the reason why I stayed with him was because I laughed and had so much fun with him! he was wild and crazy .something that I wasn't use too but I started to love doing crazy and fun things with him and his friends. I got into a lot of trouble with him but I still kept going until we said its done. it was horrible but I'm starting to get over it day by day and I am having still having fun without him!

When I was with my ex I was mostly unhappy. Don't get me wrong! There were a lot of happy moments but mostly unhappy. Our relationship dragged on for 5 years. I guess sometimes a person gets really comfortable with that other person and breaking up isn't really easy. I can't say this for everyone but I know back then I was more afraid of feeling lost without him. It took a LONG time for me to move on, but I am really happy that we broke up now. I guess you can say I was scared of what would happen.

Well I wouldn't say I'm completely unhappy because we have our good times too. BUT a great majority of the time anymore I'm in a depressed mood and I can't stand it, but I can't leave him (I can but don't want to) I mean I love him with all my heart and have also been with him for 3 years and I just can't bring myself to leave him, I would be lost without him. So I think people stay because they truly love the person they're with. Even if at times its not the best choice for them.
