Well maybe, when he was expecting you to say I love you to him, and you didn't, he was hurt enough to lose that feeling for you. As for me though, even though I never yelled at my girl for not saying it, the first "I love you" is hard to say, I always get really defensive around that time, I might say it back, but usually in the back of my mind I'm thinking "do I really love her? Did I just commit to long term? Am I f*cking retarded or what?" But of course it goes away, he's probably just either jittery about it, or maybe he really doesn't care. OR! Maybe he just didn't expect you to say it, if it was a good bye I love you, then he probably wasn't expecting it and hung up.
