Love is complex. At most it is no more than 20% physical (affection, appearance and sex). True love includes emotional risk, trust, intimacy and investment. It also requires mental risk, trust, intimacy and investment. However, the most important aspect of love, making up more than 30%, is spiritual. Spiritual risk means allowing someone else to reach that level of you where your identity is no longer protecting the real you. It requires trust at levels that leave you absolutely vulnerable to another person, or God Himself, with not protective mechanisms or barriers in the way. It requires intimacy between the spirit within you and the spirit, or Spirit, you seek intimacy with. It requires the investment of everything you have decided, developed ,and learned to utilize to protect, and identify, yourself, in a relationship that will redefine you into the person you were meant to be.

Love does not force itself on anyone. It pursues you until you recognize its desire is not to hurt, but to heal, affirm and develop the real you. I causes pain at times in order to peel away the layers of identity that don't belong, and keep us from becoming who, and what, we were made to be. It is patient, kind, long suffering and quiet. It does not get upset when you scream at it. It does not dismiss your pain, but seeks to lead you through the pain to the freedom on the other side. It does not ask you to cope, or protect, but to trust and allow it to protect the real you. It never forces its opinion on anyone, speaking in a soft, affirming voice, differentiating between you and your behaviors, affirming you, even while confronting your behavior.

The best way to learn about love is to read the ultimate love letter. The Bible is not a law, a historical fiction, or a hammer to beat people with. The Bible is God's love letter to us, in which He introduces Himself, through various means, including history, poems, letters and other types of accounts that prove He desires intimacy with us at levels which can never be reached with anyone else, without reaching them with Him first. Love is what allowed God to become the object of His own love, so He could die and become the wrath we thought He held toward us. Jesus doesn't ask us to die, or kill, for Him. He doesn't ask us to become less than what we were made to be. He asks us to trust Him, and Him alone, so He can live in, and through, us.

Thats a very interesting approach.
I think love is from GOD.
Without him, there is no love. I believe he is in the heart of all, and many choose to ignore it.
That or they never understand how to listen.

I think love is the decision made by a person [or something] based on feelings.

Because as a decision alone, there is no real truth behind why you love.
And what anything without the question of "WHY"?
So your decision is only based on your loyalty.

Because as a feeling alone, there is nothing to keep you true to what you have came to understand. So what is it without the question of "HOW LONG".
So your feelings are based solely on right now.

"LOVE" deserves so much more than a momentary fling or a meaningless choice to endure.

Sincerely,
A Loving Black Man

Does it ever annoy you that you're single?
random-ren asked 3 days ago

Yes, most of the time! I really wish I had a boyfriend/girlfriend!

A little, because I feel left out.

Not really...

Nope! I have too much fun being single!

What's there to be annoyed about?

What pickup lines do you use to start a conversation with someone you are attracted to?
I pretty much always start out with a friendly greeting. I follow that up with a comment or question relating to where we are (club, amusement park, etc...). After that, just find out whether she is there with other people and what they are up to that evening. If the conversation to that point goes well, I then ask her/them if they want to join me/us and take it from there.

How do they typically respond?
With this approach, I have had success (I would say at least 2/3 of the time) and it might have to do with the genuine attempt to get to know them. Its important to display a calm and confident approach because its those brief moments in which a girl decides whether to deny you or is left intrigued by you and is wanting more.

Do I have the right approach?
