i have a wonderful boyfriend who makes me happy in every way apart from the fact that he rarely if ever says things to me that make me feel special and if I try to have a conversation about my feelings he ignores whatever I say and moves on to something else? what's going on?
It sounds like one of two things. He is either shy, and he has difficulty truly expressing his feelings in a nice, good, sensitive way that perhaps sensitivity training could help with this issue. Or he could be scared. In relationships some guys are scared to tell women how they feel because either it could come out in a wrong, accidental wrong way or he could be afraid that if he gets too loving and committed he thinks oh no I could scare her and lose her. Maybe if you tell him things to make him feel special or talk every day about how happy you are and how wonderful the relationship that could help a good bit.
it could be that he has a hard time talking about feelings, after all he is a guy! just talk to him about it without being too needy. Maybe he has something on his mind. Tell him how much you care about him.
