my boyfriend asked me to marry him a few weeks ago. see we have been friends ever since we were in school and we have been through so much together. we tell each other our deepest darkest secrets. I want to marry him but the fact is we only been in a relationship a month and 6 days and we were in a relationship before but we ended that. Then when we got back together he told me if I knew then what I know now about you I would have never let you go. We haven't seen each other in 4 months and it kills me to not see him. He really wants to get married but we don't know what to do.Please help!
You don't have to get married right away. Best friends tend to make the best relationships =) You seem to know each other inside and out. Just continue on this path just keep things slow for now. Don't feel pressured, don't worry about it, just enjoy this time together and talk about marriage plans every now and then.
I think until you are completely positive of your decision you should wait. It seems a bit rushed to me. You guys have plenty of time to get back into the swing of things. So try to get to know him more on a boyfriend level. Things are completely different when you are with someone as a friend as opposed to a boyfriend/fiance.
Listen, from what you have written, you are not ready to get married. Marriage is not the new boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Marriage is a HUGE step that shouldn't be taken lightly. Have you guys lived together yet? Have you gone out and experienced the world away from each other to know that compared to everyone else, this person is for you?
It doesn't sound like it. Some of the best friendships have been messed up by getting married too soon and then they end up hating each other. There is always time for marriage.
