My best guy friend & I come from 2 very different groups of friends. His friends were kinda mean about us, mine annoying.
The last few months rumors fly that I’m crushing on him. It got out of hand & awkward between us, so I finally called him last week to tell him I value our relationship way too much to let something like that ruin our friendship. He was so glad I called, said he loves talking to me & spending time with me but it's been really hard because his friends have given him so much crap about me and made a lot of assumptions based on nothing.
Since our conversation, we are much more relaxed & free in our friendship. Getting closer everyday. And during the 8-10 weeks all this was happening, he never stopped texting/talking with me. He was always attentive & pretty wonderful.
We really don't do anything together socially because of our groups. Except this weekend we met for lunch because I'm traveling for awhile. It's the first time we've done anything like that. We had a blast.
Here's another thing, girls are always chasing him & he really ignores them.until a few weeks ago when he decided to make out w/one for fun.He felt terrible afterwards because it's unlike him to act on an impulse. We talked a long time about it and how it hurt his reputation.
I know we’re just friends…but sometimes it seems like there’s something more brewing & I can’t tell for sure. I’m so willing to be patient to see where this leads or if it ever will. We get along really well & when we’re together we can’t stop talking…we're very compatible. I am content to be friends, but secretly hope someday it will be more.
I will NEVER say anything to him about my “hopes” mostly because of recent phone conversations.
But do guys invest a lot of time/energy in a girl they just want to be friends with? I have a few guy friends, but none like him…

No not all guys put that much time and energy on a a girl,but I think what really helped you was when you called him up and cleared things up.I'm guessing you made him feel special or something that really caught his attention but I would say he does like u.By all the things he sounds like he's doing just go along with it.Dont rush anything and time will tell ur already ahead of the game he's calling you and texting so there you go good luck!
