I'm interested in different ways others have said I love you for the first time to their partner, the reaction received, how long they waited to say it, and whether a chick should say it first anyhows. I've always waited, just a rule of mine, but now I'm considering saying it first. HELP? lol.
Update: to Inkweaver 2 mos- see each other every evening. like nothing I've ever experienced, and I'm 29. The infatuation hasn't given way yet, but turned into more. He actually said it drunk on accident and took it back embarrased ;p

yeah. as long as you don't say it in a time and a place that we HAVE to say it back. its fine. over the phone. txting. scream it during sex. idk as long as we have the option NOT to say it. because it sucks to lie.lets see. oh and don't be mad if he doesn't say it back hmm'k? we don't like it when its like the MAIN subject. it should be used as a goodbye or something the first time its said. Now if you say it straight up, chances are he's gonna say he loves you back because he feels pressured.ohh your a smart chick you get the point! I love you.
Thanks. He actually tricked me out of saying it at a party over the 4th of July. He got me liquored up, and then asked me "wasn't there something you wanted to say?" Little s***. lol. Of course, there wasn't anything I had planned on saying. But, the L-word just kinda came out. He said it back the next morning... when we were both sober. Haha. - 3 months ago
I was just cuddling with my girlfriend on the couch while watching tv while stroking her arm and then I just said "Jenny," she turned her head, looked into her eyes for a few second, and said "I love you" and kissed her on the lips for the first time.
I'm not really sure after how many dates that was. I'm not really "when" we started dating as we like to refer to it more as "let's go do something, or wanna come over" when we weren't that open about it.
Known her for a year but haven't gotten serioues with her until maybe a month ago.
My boyfriend just said it one day as we were getting off the phone. I actually thought I heard him wrong and asked him to repeat himself. (I'm sure that did wonders for his nerves!) After I realized that I heard him right I said it back to him. Then we got off the phone I started jumping around the house yelling YES! We had been dating for about two weeks but had been really close friends for awhile. (we're six months in now and our love has just grown stronger) My ex boyfriend waited five months to say it. Even then he kept saying "Give me a minute" for about an hour before he finally confessed. He was a sweety. I've never said it first because I don't want to freak out the guy if he isn't ready to confess to something like that yet. If you love him and really want to say it first, I would suggest saying it in a way that he doesn't have to say it back. Don't just sit there expecting to hear it back, say it passively and maybe carry on with the conversation afterwards. That way he knows your feeling but just doesn't have to confess his own. How long have you two been together?
