Hi - I've known my boyfriend for many years. We have been talking about getting married soon, I'm 37. I just found out he put an adult personal ad on a website and didn't tell me about it. He didn't pay for it so he couldn't contact anyone but I'm still upset about it. I confronted him and he is sorry but said he could have paid for the site and actually met the girls but didn't. What should I do? Thanks!
Well, paid for the site and the girls if it was an "adult" personal ad. Bottom line is that he's wrong in doing that. Not paying and not going through with it is better than paying and going through with it, but it's not the most impressive excuse.
On the other hand, he could have been "surfing the web" and ended up doing something impulsive that seemed fascinating at the moment, but which he wasn't going to follow through on. I think making it clear that it bothered you and requiring him to make up for it is the way to go here.
